In 1997, John Harrington founded Madisonfilm, Inc., an award-winning film and new-media production company based in historic Alexandria, Virginia, specializing in historical documentaries, Web design, DVD and WebDVD technology. John wore a number of hats during the production of The Cultivated Life: Thomas Jefferson and Wine including executive producer, director, writer and editor. John’s work has appeared on PBS, ABC, CBS and The Discovery Channel and is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television. Before founding Madisonfilm, John served as a producer for an independent production company in Los Angeles as well as a Foley artist at Paramount Studios. John also taught documentary film classes at USC.

Alessandro (Sam) Santarelli joined Madisonfilm in 2000 to produced and co-write The Cultivated Life: Thomas Jefferson and Wine. It is his first film production broadcast by PBS.

Sam has produced a number of historical documentary films, interactive DVDs and websites for museums and is an alumnus of the University of Virginia’s College of Arts and Sciences. Before joining Madisonfilm, Sam worked on Capitol Hill for a United States Senator and in corporate real estate for Northwestern Mutual.

Cinematographer Christopher Mosio has shot numerous documentaries, short films, commercials and music videos; in addition to nearly two-dozen feature films. Christopher’s work has appeared theatrically and on every major network and cable channel. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television.
