From his early experiments with Italian vignerons at Monticello, to his grand tour through France and Italy, through his years in the White House, and then his later efforts at Monticello, The Cultivated Life: Thomas Jefferson and Wine guides the viewer on a visual journey of the life of American wine’s founding father. The film culminates in a celebration of Jefferson’s legacy to American wine, realized first in California, and now burgeoning in Virginia.
